Ship Hops Creation
Ship Hop was created in a shipping container a number of years ago by some like minded Lads with a shared passion for beer making. In 2023 they closed up to spend more time with their families.
In 2024 it was purchased by three friends who also wanted to make beer. The Lads may have changed but the beers are much the same. As time goes on more beers will be added and trialed. Adding to the craft beer experience in Timaru.
Who we are
The three lads who are the proud owners of Ship Hop Brewing are Patrick, Cameron and Matt.
Patrick a UK born half Kiwi West-coaster now living and working in Timaru NZ. Patrick came to NZ to discover his roots and spend time with his extended family and then stayed. You will find him serving in the shop most Fridays
Cameron a proud West-coaster now living and working in South Canterbury. You may see him in his noisy Hilton Haulage Truck with the Ship Hop flag hung proudly behind him.
Matt a Temuka local who got out as soon as he could and vowed never to return…. only to return again and glad that he did. Back living and working in Timaru is a decision he does not regret. You may also see him driving around in his much quieter Hilton Haulage truck also displaying a Ship Hop flag behind him.
New Beers
As we develop and hone our beer making skills there will be new beers being created. We are keen to have some fun and experiment with the different hops and malts to create new beers. We will also be keeping the tried and true Ship Hop favourites.
